“I've been a hairdresser for 14 years. I was first inspired when one day my friend asked me to come over and cut his hair because he didn't have any money to pay for a haircut (still doesn’t apparently) and I was the only one he (weirdly) trusted to do it out of our scallywag mates, that was that - hooked.

I enjoy cutting hair, the craftsmanship of it mostly. Being able to create something out of the material of hair by applying technique that has been filtered through experience/inspiration, it's my favourite thing to do.

I would definitely say mens hair is one of my specialties, all lengths and all textures. It’s something I've worked really hard to make one of my strong suits.
I also really enjoy doing shorter sharp bob haircuts, something really defined and graphic; again it's another thing I've spent countless hours attempting to master the art of.

I also really love the look of soft effortless healthy hair, something really simple, beautiful and open, what's there not to love. As a hairdresser I'm passionate, attentive and I genuinely do care about giving you a great haircut.

I do a lot of short haircuts. There's something about short hair that really stands out, not just in the fact that it’s short but that if it's textured you can make it look really textured, If it’s sharp you can make it look really sharp - it's easier to get your point across.

I would have absolutely loved to have given a haircut to David Bowie - he just epitomises individuality and evolution.

If you're going to invest in a good haircut, invest in good products. I would recommend mostly cream based products, something that just going to saturate the hair and make it look a bit more lived in and natural. Kevin Murphy: Easy Rider is a great product for this and also Kevin Murphy: Touchable (which is a spray on wax) on top to top it off - can't go wrong.

I believe the haircut is the wedding; the venue, the food, the horse and carriage, the harp playing softly in the corner of the room as you walk in while everyone turns around to look at you - the product is the wedding dress. You wouldn't spend a small fortune on your wedding only to get married in a dress you bought on sale at TKmaxx!?”
