INOA is a revolutionary colour in that it is the first 100% ammonia free odourless permanent colourant range with optimised scalp comfort and respect for the hair - INOA leaves the hair intensely hydrated for up to six weeks, shiny and smooth whilst delivering the best pure and intense colour result!
Until now, ammonia had been the ingredient of choice for great permanent colour results. Now, L’Oréal Professionnel has invented a new technology, a breakthrough oil base that drives the colourant into the heart of the hair fibre without the need for ammonia and provides greater respect for the hair.
Ammonia Free Permanent Colour - Carolina talks us through the INOA treatment she used on client Lola...
Why would you recommend using INOA? As it's an ammonia free colour, it retains the hair natural lipids and maintains health.
Who is most suitable for this kind of product? it is particularly beneficial for fragile or sensitised hair that still requires permanent cover for grey coverage or lightening.
What do you most like about it? It's shine and natural reflect - also when applied it does not have an odour.
How long does the process take and what maintenance is involved? The same development time and process as a usual permanent tint so 35min development. As it's a permanent colour, depending on how different the tone is from you natural colour or how much white hair a client has, the maintenance varies from having to top up your service every 4 to 8 weeks.
Any other advice? I would always recommend in-salon colour post treatments to further stabilise colour into hair like the L'Oreal Powerdose treatments available at the backwash (£10). As well as always using a colour care shampoo and conditioner to protect the colour and invest in a good weekly conditioning treatment like a Davines NOU NOU Pak, as healthy hair keeps colour for longer!
Ammonia Free Pre-lightning - Jolene talks us through her treatment on client Michelle...
What is it and why would you recommend using it? An INOA platinum pre-lightener (commonly referred to as bleach). it is an ammonia free pre-lightener with nutri-cerides and white beeswax allowing for the preservation of the hair's inner structure, shine suppleness and strength.
Who is most suitable for this service? It is great for clients with easy to lighten hair or a light natural base. The product is suitable for all techniques but I did a full head pre-lightener on my model Michelle. The service takes 1 hour application on roots first, then allow product to develop until hair lightens to desired colour (pale yellow) and then tone,
Expected result? Very light blond with subtle ash tones and roots to be retouched very 4 to 6 weeks. After the pre-lightener, I also used two colours to tone the hair - a very soft strawberry on the roots fading to a cooler blond on the ends.
Any other advice? Colour can be topped up between services to keep the blond crisp and clean. Always use a professional shampoo and conditioner to maintain the condition of the hair like the Davines NOU NOU range. The Davines Alchemic Silver Shampoo can also be used once a week to keep your blonde at its best.
Jolene works every Thursday and every other Saturday; Carolina works Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Ammonia Free full head permanent colour £69-£84; Ammonia free pre-lightener full head £119-£139 and we would always recommend a consultation with your stylist before any colour service.
