From long to short curly hair

"My client Saskia was looking to have a big change and wanted a haircut that did just that. She had brought in a picture of a short haircut she particularly liked so we did something similar but more suited to her hair face shape and hair type (which is curly). It is always helpful when a client brings in an image of a haircut or hairstyle they like to use as a starting point during a consultation.

I recommended we cut her hair shorter at the back and to keep it long as well as connected at the front so she has something to play with. This would also enables her to vary the hairstyle, particularly considering she has naturally curly hair which can be worn straight or wavy as alternative hair looks.

With curly hair it's important to use a leave-in conditioner like Davines MOMO to control the curl and an oil like Davines OI Oil to add shine and moisture. During the last part of the hair service when I was drying the hair, I showed Saskia how to diffuse her hair and to twist sections to define her curls. I also recommended she come and visit me in the salon for a follow up haircut after six to eight weeks just to keen the new shape maintained and split ends at bay."
